The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
